Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, case number, or other term entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and returns its result; this site does not retain or log the query.
Messages and Contact Submissions
This site does not provide a private-site contact form or email channel for court or record questions. Those questions belong with Lincoln County District Court Administration or the applicable third-party provider. If a visitor sends information through a provider’s service, that provider’s policy controls its handling.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page is requested, servers may receive routine technical information about the visit, including:
- the IP address associated with the connection
- browser type and version
- device category and operating system
- pages viewed and the time spent on them
- the referring site, when one is supplied
- the date and time of a page request
Cookies and Analytics
This site may use cookies, small files saved on a visitor’s device, to understand aggregate use such as page traffic and navigation patterns. Analytics services can help summarize that activity. A browser can be configured to reject cookies, although portions of the site may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- operating, securing, and improving page performance
- routing a search request to the service selected by the visitor
- understanding which resource pages visitors use
- diagnosing technical problems
- displaying advertising that may be relevant to a visitor’s interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Lincoln County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record data. It publishes general guidance about the official routes for Lincoln County District Court Administration and Minnesota Court Records Online (MCRO). The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party records.
Public access to Minnesota judicial records is governed principally by the Minnesota Rules of Public Access to Records of the Judicial Branch; remote MCRO access can be narrower than eligible access at the courthouse. Minn. Stat. § 13.01 states Minnesota’s general public-access policy for government data, while judicial records principally follow the Judicial Branch rules.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes displayed on this site. Information submitted through those tools is governed by the provider’s privacy policy, including its retention and sharing practices. We do not control those practices, so review the provider’s policy before entering a search.
Links to Other Websites
The site links to court-administration pages, court portals, statewide case-search services, legal-aid resources, and third-party tools. An external link takes a visitor to a service governed by that service’s own privacy policy. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising partners may track activity across websites to deliver interest-based advertising. Any such tracking occurs within their systems, not this site’s systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be available to the following categories of recipients:
- search providers processing a query submitted through their tool
- analytics providers used to measure traffic and performance
- advertising networks serving ads on site pages
- law-enforcement agencies or government bodies when legally required
How We Protect Your Data
We use reasonable security practices for information collected through the site. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed secure, however, and no assurance can be made that a security incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. Because the site has no private support channel, information submitted to a third-party service must be addressed through that provider’s privacy process.
Your Data Rights
Depending on the visitor’s location and the information involved, Minnesota, federal, or other applicable law may provide additional data rights. Where applicable, a visitor may:
- request access to information held about the visitor
- request correction of inaccurate information
- request deletion of information
- opt out of certain processing where a law provides that option
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. A revised policy becomes effective when it is posted on this page and will carry an updated effective date.
